Annabel Hall

Annabel Gothard Hall, 100, of Sale Creek, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at her home. She was born in Sale Creek on Nov. 7, 1916, to the late Annie Marisa (May) and Edward Gothard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Hall; her son, James G. Hall; her daughter Pamela Hall-Mertes; in addition to her grandson, Chris Pierce. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Sadie Brown, Easter Thornburg and Lilly May Cook; in addition to her brothers, Lloyd Gothard, Harry Gothard, and William Gothard. Annabel spent most of her life in Sale Creek, and she graduated from Sale Creek High School with the class of 1933. She then graduated from McKenzie College before going to work at Dupont as a laboratory specialist. She later became owner of Ladybug Bridal Shop in Chattanooga, and worked there for many years. Annabel was a member of the Sale Creek Church of Christ. Annabel is survived by her daughter, Jan Tucker, of Hendersonville, Tenn.; her beloved niece and caretaker, Betty Young, of Sale Creek; and her great-niece, Pam Prickett, of Sale Creek. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A funeral service for Annabel will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jason Brooks of Lafayette, Ga., officiating. She will be laid to rest in Rhea Memory Gardens.
