Polly Anderson

DECATUR — Polly Pickel Anderson, 90, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017, at Maple Court Assisted Living in Powell, Tenn. She was a member of Decatur United Methodist Church and a former Meigs County Circuit Court Clerk. She was active in United Methodist Women’s Group of Decatur and Athens. She enjoyed bowling, swimming, knitting, and playing cards. She was preceded in death by parents, T. T. and Ruby Benefield Brooks; son, John Tallant; brothers, Bill Brooks, Cotton Brooks; sister, Charlene Hill; granddaughter, Laura Reese. Survivors include her sons, Pete Tallant (Trish), of Florida, Rev. Alvin Tallant (Sandy), of Kingston, Tenn., daughter, Gielda Reese (Tom), of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and dear friends will miss her. Funeral services will be Sunday, July 23, 2017, at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Bowers Funeral Home in Decatur, TN.
