Shirley Bing

LaFAYETTE — Shirley Sue Bing, 79, passed away Friday, July 21, 2017. She was a member of Harbor Lights Baptist Church. Mrs. Bing was co-owner of Shirley’s Truck Stop for 51 years. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, James E. Bing; her parents, Wilmer and Nettie Wallin Frye; sister, Mary Nell and brother-in-law, Henry E. Marks; brother, Bill and sister-in-law, Jewelene Frye and grandsons, Kenneth Shane Lowery and Kenneth Brown. Survivors include daughters, Kathy Landin, of Orlando, Fla., Darlene Pendergrass (Jeff Thomas), of LaFayette, Annette Bing, of Summerville, Debbie (Tommy) Lowery, of Rome, Melissa (Phillip) McCollum, of Rome, and Kristy D. Schilling, of LaFayette; sons, Lamar Davis, of Rock Spring and Michael D. Bing (Paula Cowen), of LaFayette; 17 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2017, in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jim Powell officiating. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memory Gardens. Pallbearers are Barry DeBoard, Marshall Kellett, Chad Jackson, Jason Dilbeck, Joey Carr, and Jeff Marks. Honorary pallbearer is Jim Rook. Visitation is 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, July 24, at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
