Arnold Hill

HIGDON — Arnold Emmett "Pops" Hill, 85, died Sunday, July 23, 2017, at his residence. Funeral services are today at 3 p.m. CT at Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with Bro. Phillip Trask and Bro. A C Durham officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Gap Cemetery. Family will receive friends 9 a.m. until service time today. Survivors include wife of 64 years, Opal Joyce Hughes Hill; daughters, Pamela Wilson (Butch), Diana Stevens; grandchildren, Jason Sutton (Jessica), Luke Sutton (Linda), Vanessa Owens (Mark); great-grandchildren, David Robinson, Scott Stiner, Benjamin Sutton, Jake Owens, Alexis Sutton, Alice Owens, Jamie Sutton; stepgrandchildren, Paige Sandlin, Caitlin Cash, Lee Cash, Harper Sandlin; brothers, Alton Hill and Tommy Hill (Teresa). Mr. Hill worked at both Holsum Breads and Sara Lee Bakery before retiring. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Novie Hill; son, Alan Hill; great-grandson, Cole Sutton; sister, Arthell Thacker and brother, Ed Hill.
