Venita Crabtree

ATHENS — Venita Crabtree, 62, passed away Wednesday morning, June 7, 2017, at her residence. Born on April 8, 1955, in Chattanooga, she lived the past 20 years in McMinn County and was a member of Jones Chapel United Methodist Church. Venita loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Opal Shipley; and brother, Charles Jenkins. She is survived by her husband, Daniel Crabtree, of Athens; son, Kevin Casper and wife Angie, of Charlotte, N.C.; father, Otis Jenkins, of Chattanooga; sister, Denise Odom and husband Eddie, of Chattanooga; and brother, Jimmy Jenkins and wife Patsy, of Jupiter, Fla.; several nieces, nephews and other extended family also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2017, from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with the Rev. Ogle Wattenbarger and Rev. John Crabtree officiating. Interment will follow in the Jones Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday prior to the service.
