Rubye Thomas

STEVENSON — Rubye Troxell Thomas, 92, was born March 11, 1925. She departed this life June 23, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Russell Thomas; parents, Charley and Mary Troxell; stepson, John Walter Riddle Thomas. She is survived by a son, Wendell Thomas and his wife, Carolyn; stepson, Jere Ben Thomas; stepdaughter-in-law Beth Thomas and sister, Bettye Jackson; also, nine grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of students whom she called "My boys and girls." Visitation will be today from noon until 9 p.m. at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, Ala. Visitation will also be from noon to 2 p.m. Monday with the funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. in the Rudder Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Bro. Dale Andrews, The Honorable John Graham and Bro. Barry Grider. Congregational singing will be led by Rusty Matthews. Burial will follow at Stevenson City Cemetery. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com.
