Margaret Stone

LaFAYETTE — Margaret Lorene Huskey Stone, 67, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 25, 2017. She was born in Collinsville, Ala., to the late, Claude and Margie Huskey, but had lived in the North Georgia area for more than 50 years. She had previously worked as an Educator for the Walker County School System and then became the Owner and Operator of LaFayette Childcare from 1990 to 1996. She enjoyed reading, cross stitching, crafts and spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and “Nana” who will be truly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maxie Henry Stone; sister, Judy Padgett; and brother, Ralph Huskey. Survivors include her children and spouses, Allen Henry and Teresa Stone and Kimberly Darlene Stone, all of LaFayette, Ga., and Delmos Lee and Amanda Stone, of Rome, Ga.; siblings, Pat Kaylor, of Ringgold, Ga., Carolyn Huskey, of Chickamauga, Ga., James Leon Huskey and Darrell Huskey, both of Summerville, Ga., and Donna Worsham, of Holland, Ga.; four grandchildren, Chloe, Abigail, Oliver and Andrew Stone; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2017, in the LaFayette Chapel of Wilson Funeral Homes with Bro. Tom Parker and Bro. John Worsham officiating. Burial will follow in the LaFayette Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends after 4 p.m. today, and prior to the service on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
