Sheikh Faye

Sheikh TeeJan Faye Jr., 37, was born March 31, 1979, to the late Sheikh TeeJan Faye Sr., of West Gambia, Africa and Natalie Scott Elder, of Stamford, Conn. Although his life was taken unexpectedly, God called him home Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, at Memorial Park North Hospital in Chattanooga, Tenn. Sheikh graduated from University of Tennessee (VOLS) at Knoxville with a Bachelors of Arts degree; majoring in economics in 2002. In 1997, he graduated from The McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tenn., where he played football for the mighty "Tornadoes" as a defensive tackle and nose guard. He also participated in two events in track and field; the discus and shotput. He was skilled in selling and a maniacal customer service representative at H. H. Gregg retail store, all floor seller and electronics sales manager in Chattanooga, Tenn. and at Best Buy, as a supervisor/sales manager in Knoxville and Chattanooga, Tenn. In addition, Sheikh served as an executive trader for the Forex Project in Chattanooga, where he trained others in the foreign currency market and building trading centers for the public. He traded hundred-thousand to million-dollar accounts and worked collaboratively with clients showing them how to make a profit in the currency market. He conducted numerous presentations on how to trade currency and the intricacies of trading in currency market in Tulsa, Okla., Spartanburg, S.C. and Chattanooga, Tenn. He was predeceased in death by his father, Sheikh TeeJan Faye Sr. and his loving aunt, Sabrina Alicia Douglas. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted and loving mother, Natalie Scott Elder; his beloved, Adrienne Nichol Buchanan; one child, Sheikh TeeJan Faye III; seven sisters, Amaranta V. Elder (baby girl), of Stamford, Conn., Aminata (Bashiru), Saffiatou (Abdoulie "Star"), Abie (Bashiru), Ramatoulie (Morr), Isha and Bintu Ann; three brothers, Momodou Lamin (Mady), Alagie Teejan, and his right-hand man, Darius; The joy in his life was his grandmother, Countess McClellan Ramseur and his "Auntie" Lydia M. Scott. In addition, his faithful stepmother, Euleda (Missy) Faye as well as the "unconditional" circle of brotherhood, Kinsley Kinte Kilpatrick (Tracie), Ronald Lamar Cameron, Sean Corneilus Oglesby, Jody DeJuan Burgans, Gregory Allan Morgan (Tarmannia), Gregory Maurice Smith, JaMichael Dyon Overton, Tommy Lamar Dean, Randy Thompson, Robert Lamar Page, and Robert Hudgins; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins that stretches through North America to the "Motherland" of Africa. Sheikh is released into the hands of the Lord. His soul is anchored and his pathway to heaven is abundantly clear. He lived his life with no regrets because the Lord was his father. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017, at St. Paul AME Church. Interment – Highland Memorial Gardens. The body will lie-in-state after noon today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.
