Loretta Bridwell

DAYTON — Loretta J. Bridwell, 66, died Saturday, March 18, 2017, in Chattanooga. Born in Evensville, she was the daughter of the late William Kendred and Lura Dennis Fugate Jr. Loretta was a loving mother who adopted everyone as her own. She loved cooking and spending time with friends and family. She was of the Baptist faith. Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, James Dean Bridwell; son, James William Bridwell; three grandchildren; and her brother, William Kendred Fugate Jr. Survivors include her daughter, Melissa (Johnnie) Bridwell Treadaway, of Spring City; special daughter, Amy Morgan Gaddy, of Jacksonville, Ala.; companion, Frankie Duren, of Dayton; foster son, Erik J. Van Daley, of U.S. Air Force, Italy; special friend, Billie Fine, of Dayton; brothers, Wayne (Martha) Fugate, of Aiken, S.C., Earl (Polly) Fugate, of Evensville and Tommy (Geraldine) Fugate, of Evensville; sisters, Anita (John) Chadwick, of Soddy- Daisy, and Charlotte (Ronnie) Greene, of Greenville, Tenn., and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be today, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Couch officiating. Interment will follow in Rhea Memory Gardens.
