Robert Chaplin

Mr. Robert “Bob” L. Chaplin, 86, of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at his residence. Bob was born in Des Moines, Iowa on June 1, 1930. He retired as a Corporate VP and controller for Maytag. Bob was a member of St. John United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Ruby (Harkins) Chaplin and his stepmother, Rose Chaplin. He is survived by his wife, Linda Chaplin, of Chattanooga; son, Steve Chaplin, of Honolulu, Hawaii; daughter, Lisa Chaplin, of Iron River, Wis.; brother, James Chaplin and wife, Judy Poindexter, of Long Beach, Calif.; Nieces, Jama Chaplin, of Garberville, Calif., and Julia Chaplin, of Richmond, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, 2017, at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Rev. Carl Blackburn officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. John United Methodist Church or Hospice of Chattanooga.
