George Potts

George Doscher Potts, 87, of Apison, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 21, 2017, in Houston, Texas, where he resided in memory care. He was predeceased by his his wife, Verdenia W. Potts; son, Stephen L. Potts; and grandchildren, Stephanie and Jeremy. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his children, Kim (John) Joyce, of Oilville, Va., Becky (Marty) Cohen, of Houston, Texas, David (Lyn) Potts, of Goochland, Va.; and grandchildren, Stephen and Johnny, extended family members and friends. Mr. Potts lived in Apison, Tenn., until his retirement from DuPont. His home became Brownsville, Texas after retirement. He was a member of Apison United Methodist Church and served our country proudly as a U.S. Army and Navy veteran. Family will receive friends at noon on April 8, 2017, at Apison United Methodist Church, followed by a 1 p.m. memorial service and reception. A private family committal follows at Plowman’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Apison United Methodist Church, 4412 Bill Jones Road, Apison, Tenn., 37302.
