Frank Schrader

LaFAYETTE — Franklin "Frank" Byron Schrader, 65, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was of the Church of God faith. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. In the woods, he found his sanctuary for communing with nature and God’s creation. As a quiet man, Frank was humble and kind and had a unique gift of making each one feel special. Frank was a machinist by trade. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Schrader and Alma Parker Schrader; siblings, Genomi Schrader, Lorene Wilson, Vertie Wilbanks, Mildred Ferguson, Melvin Schrader, Doris Mitchell, Leroy Schrader, and Phillip Schrader. Survivors are his loving wife of 29 years, Lora Durham Schrader; sisters, Louise (Carl) Bowers; brothers-in-law, Lee Durham, Virgil (Delores) Durham, and Clint (Carolyn) Durham; Frank loved each one of his nieces and nephews in a very special way, while he grew up as brother to some…he was “Our Hero” to all. He had many nieces and nephews all were special to him and he had a unique relationship with each and everyone one of them. Frank was the peacemaker - the glue that held us all together. Funeral services will be Sunday, March 26, at 2 p.m. in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor Lowell Cantrell officiating. Interment in the Old Antioch Cemetery. Pallbearers are Aaron Mitchell, Michael Faulkner, Bruce Huskey, Seth Wallace, Dillon Wallace, and Thomas Wilson. Honorary pallbearers are Tim Crosby, Matt Seritt, Bart Seritt, Ed Posey, Colton Bowers, Dustin Bowers, Dustin Pope, and the staff of Mt. Berry Hospice. Visitation will be at the funeral home today from 6 to 9 p.m. Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
