Cilla Hallquist

Cilla Hallquist, of Chattanooga, Tenn., passed away on the morning of March 24, 2017. During her time here with us she gave the purest examples of kindness, generosity, hope, faith, love and humility. A soft spoken, modest and gentle human being who was smiling even in the midst of the hardest struggles life will bring. The comfort and well being of her family, friends and beloved pets without hesitation she put before any of her own needs or wants. She found joy in the simple things that some would overlook and beauty in the times that seemed bleak. She loved attending live concerts and had a diverse catalog of music that she always listened to. Her favorite concerts to attend and music to listen to however was that of her son Jordan Hallquist. In particular his original music and when he covered her other favorite artist Bruce Springsteen. Her favorite time of year was Christmas and she had Christmas music queued and ready to play no later than the last week of August every year. Agatha Christie novels, murder/crime dramas, feeding wild birds in her backyard, hot tea, good boots and spoiling her beloved dog Clapton, were some of the things she enjoyed the most while in the company of the people she loved the most. Her strong faith in God was the core of her happiness and she did her best to always live by the simple instructions given in the passage of scripture found in Micah 6:8. She is survived by her loving and caring husband, Robert Hallquist, whom she loved dearly; her son, Jordan Hallquist who was her pride and joy and daughter-in-law, Kristina Hallquist that she was so very proud of and never missed a chance to tell anyone how thankful she was for her; Her dog, Clapton and her favorite Puggle Paisley also survive her. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Orange Grove Center, Orange Grove Center, 615 Derby Street, Chattanooga, Tenn., 37404. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the Chattanooga Memorial Park.
