Hershel Griffith

Hershel Watson Griffith "Griff", 92, of Red Bank, went home to be with the Lord at his home on Thursday, March 23, 2017. A member of Calvary Bible Church, he retired from U.S. Pipe and served in the U.S Army as a Master Sargent with Company B 822D Tank Battalion. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Griffith and his parents, Elvin and Myrtle Griffith; sister, Velma Snipes; brothers, Hoyt and Elvin Griffith Jr. He is survived by his daughters, Jan McCrary and Laura Littlejohn (Barry); grandson, Clint Littlejohn; granddaughters, Megan McCrary and Ginny Holcomb (Will); sister, Faye Cooper; and several nieces and nephews. He was a man of integrity who loved the Lord and his family. He was proud to have served his country during WWII. He will be sorely missed. A graveside service with military honors will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. EDT, on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Dr. Bill Henry officiating.
