Kenneth Hamill

FORT OGLETHORPE — Kenneth “Ken” David Hamill, 83, passed away, Monday, May 1, 2017. A lifelong resident of the Ringgold area, he was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, a Life Member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades #226, was a Journeyman Painter, and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard David and Mabel Shirley Hullander Hamill; twin brother, Keith Hamill; brother, James Hamill; and sister, Marie Hullender. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara Farlett Hamill, of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.; two children, Carolyn (Claude) Johnson, of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., and Tony (Chomsun) Hamill, of Fort. Oglethorpe, Ga.; three grandchildren, Donnie (Shauna) Altizer, K.T. Hamill and Keith (Amy) Hamill; five great- grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Anderson Cemetery, with Pastor Garland Hullander officiating. The family will receive friends today, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart Chapel Ringgold, Ga.
