Ronald Cain

ROCK SPRING — Ronald Vernon Cain, 78, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017, surrounded by his family. Ron was born in LaFayette on June 4, 1938, to the late Vernon Cain and Mabel Leath Cain. He was a lifelong member of Peavine Baptist Church and ministered in many churches in Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, and Alabama during his life. After retiring from the ministry he owned and operated his own trucking company, transporting for Pinson Air Freight Company. Following his trucking career, Ron spent several years as a Pre-need Funeral Insurance Agent/Counselor for funeral homes in the area and retired with Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Lucy Cain, of Rock Spring; daughters, Sheri (Peter) Thomas, of Ooltewah, Tenn., and Jill (David) Scarlett, of Huntsville, Ala.; son, Mark (Melissa) Cain, of LaFolette, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Brenda (Bobby) Edwards, of Rock Spring; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service at Peavine Baptist Church Friday, May 12, at 3 p.m. with Rev. Denny Patrick officiating. Interment in Peavine Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation at Peavine Baptist Church Friday from 1 p.m. until time of service. Arrangements by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
