LaFAYETTE — Derrell DeWayne Brooks, 50, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Betty Brooks; his adopted parents, Willard and Louise Brooks; brother, Jeffery Brown; aunt, Lottie and uncle, Robert Smith. Survived by aunt, Maybell Sparks, of LaFayette; sister, Charlott Coker, of LaFayette; aunts and uncles, Bobby Smith, of LaFayette, Trudy Green, of LaFayette, John Paul Williams, of Summerville, and Linda Rhinehart, of LaFayette; niece, Kimberly White, of LaFayette; nephew, Stanley Coker, of Apison, Tenn.; and special caregiver, Christy Cordell. Funeral from the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel will be today, May 26, 2017, at 6 p.m. with Bro. David Thompson officiating. Interment in LaFayette Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 4 p.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Care Mission; 105 N. Chattanooga Street, LaFayette, Ga., 30728.
