Norma Russell

LaFAYETTE — Norma Jean Russell, 80, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017. She was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church. Norma was a business partner with Dot Edwards at the The Bouquet Shop for more than 30 years. She had a love for collecting antiques, fishing and watching golf. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Russell Sr.; daughter, Kaye Haney; parents, Charlie Putnam and Grace Williams Putnam; sister, Hazel Cox; and brothers, Jim Putnam and Ken Putnam. Survived by sons, Al (Linda) Russell, of Harrison, Tenn., and Bill Russell, of LaFayette; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Charlene McIntyre; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Sonja Hegwood. Funeral service is today, May 26, at 2 p.m. at Sunnyside Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Avans officiating. Interment in McIntyre Cemetery. Pallbearers are C.J. Haney, Wil Russell, James Lively, James Haney, Daniel Haney, and Zachary Sparks. Honorary pallbearers are Edward Mitchell, Lloyd Mitchell, Jeff Gilreath, Craig Coker, Don Williams, and the staff of Amedisys Hospice. Family will receive friends today at Sunnyside Baptist Church from 1 p.m. until time of service. Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to Sunnyside Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
