Jewel Farrar

Jewel Elizabeth Watson Farrar, 101, of Ooltewah, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 27, 2017. Jewel was preceded in death by her husband, John Lewis Farrar; her parents, Galia Stewart Watson and William Lafayette Watson; and her siblings who were all from Camden, Tenn., four sisters, Magaldine Smith, Mina Butler, Pearl Floyd and Linda Cagle, and three brothers, Rev. Robert Watson, Earl Watson, and Sam Watson. She was a 50-year+ member of Ooltewah Baptist Church and a member of the Maggie Watts Sunday School class. She was a loving mother, grandmother and foster parent for 28 children. She was foster parent of the year in 1981. Jewel is survived by four children who share her loving memory, three daughters, Shirley Wagoner, Judy (Vernon) Miller, of Highland, Ind., Brenda (Al) Smith, and one son, Jimmy (Mary) Farrar; She had two grandsons, Andy Wagoner and Alan (Angie) Wagoner; five great-grandchildren, Lindsay Wagoner, Alisha Griffith, Chelsie Amos, Cynthia and Katie Wagoner; and a one great-great-granddaughter, Aubrhy Holcomb. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at Ooltewah Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Bradley officiating. Interment will follow in Ooltewah Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
