Emily Harvey Adams, 100, died at her Chattanooga home on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017. Mrs. Adams was born in Memphis, Tenn., on Sept. 29, 2017, the daughter of the late Fletcher Dumas Harvey and Pollye Garrett. She was a graduate of Vanderbilt University. Mrs. Adams enjoyed a long membership with First Presbyterian Church, Chattanooga, where she was actively involved in the Nell Davis (Steve Bevil) Sunday School class, as well as the Women of the Church. She also held membership for more than 60 years with the Nancy Ward Chapter of DAR, serving as Past Regent. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Adams was also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John “Jack” Winston Adams Jr., MD, who died in November of 1991; as well as her daughter and son-in-law, Frances Adams Hysinger and Wayne Kibler; and son-in-law, Richard Dolin. Survivors include her children, Lucy Ann Adams Cundiff (Louis) of Mt. Hermon, La., and Jacqueline Adams Dolin, of Louisville, Ky.; grandchildren, Brett Winston Hysinger, of Fairfax, Va., Erik Bradford Hysinger, MD (Pam), of Cincinnati, Ohio, Amanda Dolin Hipo (Richard), of Denton, Texas, Miriam Dolin Nelson (Corey), of Fort Collins, Colo., Mark Cundiff, of Mt. Hermon, La., Kelly Cundiff Griffin (Randall), of Tylertown, Miss., Charis Cundiff Harris (Hans), of Metairie, La., and Ariel Cundiff (Patty), of Metairie, La.; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A service to commemorate her life will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, 2017, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow the ceremony at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
