Claude Bratcher

TEN MILE — Claude Bratcher Jr. born on Monday, Jan. 5, 1925, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017, at the age of 92. He lived in Ten Mile, Tenn., and was a native of Chattanooga and South Pittsburg, Tenn. Claude was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Ten Mile. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a Seabee in World War II, who served his country in the 122nd Construction Battalion from 1943-1946. Claude was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Crabtree Bratcher; parents, Claude and Marguarite Bratcher; and brothers, Bob, Jimmy and Nick Bratcher. Survived by sons, Dan Bratcher and wife Hazel, of Ten Mile, Tenn., Claude Bratcher III and wife Dana, of Thomasville, N.C.; brother, Ted Bratcher and wife Judy, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; special friend, Doris Montooth, of Sweetwater, Tenn.; grandchildren, John Bratcher Jr., of Ten Mile, Tenn., Ashley Smith and husband Anthony, of Ten Mile, Tenn., Kariann Lindner and husband Chris, of Ten Mile, Tenn., Tim Bratcher and wife Brooke, of Loudon, Tenn., Claude Bratcher IV and wife Rachel, of Portland, Ore., Meredith Burnett and husband Jack, of Clarksville, Ga.; and 15 great-grandchildren. The body is at Kyker Funeral Homes in Sweetwater, TN. Funeral service was held Thursday, Nov. 16, at 8 p.m. with Rev. Neal Pillion and Rev. Jimmy Jackson officiating. Singer will be; Gary Whitworth. Graveside service and Interment will be 11 a.m. today, Nov. 17, 2017, in Edgemon Cemetery in Ten Mile, Tenn., with Military Honors provided by the Sweetwater VFW Gold Star Post 5156 and the Monroe County Disabled Veterans. Pallbearers will be; Daniel Bratcher, John Bratcher Jr., Tim Bratcher, Chip Bratcher, Caleb Smith, Ray Case and Andy Burchfield.
