Iona Pennington

TRENTON — Iona Pearl Christopher Pennington, 95, passed away Nov. 16, 2017. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Millard A. Pennington and parents, John (Tom) and Ora Christopher, and her siblings, Willie Christopher, Lawrence Christopher, James Christopher, Leon Christopher, Louise Weldon, and Imajean Martin. She is survived by her daughters, Faye (R.D.) Johnson, Ider, Ala., Jean (Garry) Tipton, Trenton, Brenda (Gary) Bell, Trenton,; sons, Wayne (Ida Faye) Pennington, Ringgold, Ga., Randy (Sheila) Pennington, Rock Spring, Ga.; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Cecil Christopher, Ider, Ala.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, at the Moore Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Jim Lilley officiating. Interment will follow at Brown Gap Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday 4 to 8 p.m. EST; Sunday noon to 2:30 p.m. EST.
