Ruth Herrell

TRION — Ruth Elizabeth Herrell, 78, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017. She was of the Baptist faith. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lula Akins; grandson, Danny L. Magness Jr.; two sisters and one brother. Survivors include her loving husband of 56 years, Charles Herrell Sr.; children, Michael Herrell, Elizabeth (Kenny) Lawson; Debbie (Eric) Rice, Charles Jr. (Kimberly) Herrell; grandchildren, Heather Vance, Chris Magness, Tiffany Herrell, Wendy Goins, Blake Herrell and Zachary Rice, Kelsey Curtis, Adam Curtis; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, in the Fort Oglethorpe chapel of Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Dale Oxendine officiating. Entombment will follow at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Arrangements are by W.L.
