Jimmy Ray Bettis

Jimmy Ray Bettis, 73, gained his heavenly wings on Friday, Nov. 17, 2017. He moved to the Shoals from Chattanooga, Tenn., in May 2016 to be closer to his sister Donna Kay. Mr. Bettis was an Army veteran and was retired from the construction industry. Jimmy was an avid sports fan and loved being with his family and loved his new found friends and neighbors at Sullivan Village. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Bettis and Aileen Bettis Waters; brother, R.L. Bettis, and sisters, Peggy Crabtree and Sara Ruth Dixon. He is survived by his sister, Donna Kay (Jim) Seales and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Dr. Jonathan Parker, the entire staff at J.W. Sommers Rehab Center and the amazing nurses of Shoals Hospital I.C.U. who cared for him so lovingly.
