Lendon McDonald
CHICKAMAUGA — L. Lendon McDonald, 88, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017. He was a lifelong resident of Chickamauga and was a member of Chickamauga First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Lendon served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps, during the Korean War and retired from South Central Bell after more than 30 yrs. of employment. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, who will be greatly missed.
Lendon was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Mae McDonald; and parents, Louis A. and Virgie Lee McCorkle McDonald.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 15 yrs., Barbara Mitchell McDonald; sons, Mike McDonald, Mark (Loretta) McDonald and Rick (Beth) McDonald; step-daughters, Cindy (Ron) Brotherton and Kim (Sam) McDonald; sisters, Julia Stininnett and Jane McGuire; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 24, 2017 at Chattanooga National Cemetery, with Dr. Darrell Henry officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and prior to leaving for the cemetery on Friday.
