Carlos Clonts

Carlos E. Clonts, 80, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Jeania Clonts; sister, Joann Guth; and brother, Herbert “Herbie” Clonts. Carlos was of the Christian faith. He loved to play the guitar. He also loved to laugh and was known to be a prankster from time to time. He was a veteran in the U.S. Navy having served in the Korean War. He worked as a Police Officer for the Chattanooga Police Department and later worked as a Federal Police Officer in the Marshall Islands. He was a member of the Alhambra Shrine in Chattanooga. Survivors include his daughters; Brenda (Doug) Rodgers of Columbus, Ga., Sherrie (Paul) Hudgins of Apison, Tenn., Robin (Larry) Morrison of Harrison, Tenn., grandchildren; Collin and Erin Rodgers, Miranda Smedley, Megan and Trey Hudgins, Erica and Garrett Morrison, great-grandchild, Cayle Morrison, siblings; Cecil “Buster” Leroy Clonts Jr. of Soperton, Ga., William “Willie” Benard Clonts of Soddy Daisy, Tenn., Kathlyn “Tootie” Suzanne Emigh of Sanford, Flo., Sandra “Sandi” Kay Peek of Soddy Daisy, Tenn. and Mary Beth “Madie” O’Baker of Cocoa, Flo. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Darrell Winters officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday prior to the service.
