Martha Anne Webster Taylor, passed away peacefully on Oct. 5, 2017, at age 95 in Nashville. Known to her friends as “Marty”, she devoted her life to her family and friends, always having an upbeat zest for life. As a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ, Marty impacted countless lives through her outgoing concern for others and her intercessory prayer. Born in Evansville Ind., she developed a love for photography, tennis, and flowers which she enjoyed for most of her life. She graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She married Franklin W. Taylor and moved to Morristown, Tenn., in 1952, where they raised their two sons. She was an avid tennis player - winning many local tournaments. In 1967 she started her own radio show called, “Fascinating People”. In 1969, she helped start the Christian Women’s Club of Morristown. After the death of her husband Frank, Marty moved to Chattanooga in 1977. There, she was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga. In 1998, Marty moved to Franklin, Tenn., to be close to her two sons. She was an member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Nashville. Due to the progression of dementia, she spent her last years at Blakeford Senior Living in Nashville. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff that lovingly cared for Marty. Marty is survived by her two sons and their spouses, Richard and Julie Taylor, of Franklin, Tenn., and Bill and Erin Taylor, of Hendersonville, Tenn.: grandchildren, Elllis Taylor, Franklin Taylor, Richmond Taylor, Mitchell Taylor and Scott Taylor, all of Nashville, Tenn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Precept Ministries of Chattanooga Tennessee or First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga, Tenn. The family plans to schedule a memorial service at a future date.
