RINGGOLD — Martha McClure Irwin Rhodes, 81, of Phenix City, Ala., passed away Friday, Oct. 13, 2017. A native of Ringgold, Ga., she has lived in Phenix City for the past six years. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Willie B. Rhodes; second husband, Jewell L. Irwin; parents, Ira and Lillie Stapp McClure; and sister, Manton Brown. She is survived by her children, Sue Harmon, of Roanoke, Ala., Jackie Rhodes, of Ringgold, Ga., James Rhodes, of Ringgold, Ga., Maxine Rhodes, of Phenix City, Ala., Charlean Rhodes, of Rossville, Ga., and Samuel M. Rhodes Sr., of Fortson, Ga.; sister, Johnie Mitchel, of Trion, Ga.; 18 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017, at Anderson Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
