Evelyn Hamby

Mrs. Evelyn Fay Gordon Hamby, 89, of Harrison, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017. Evelyn was born in Charleston, Tenn., to the late Lee and Bertha (Nicholson) Gordon. She was a member of the Harrison Ruritan Club and a longtime member of Bayside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry Clay Hamby Sr.; and her daughter, Donna Hasselle. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Henry Clay Hamby Jr.; grandchildren, Jacob Nye, Ben Nye, Andy Nye, Rob Hasselle, Scott Hamby, Cody Hamby, Brittney Ault; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation for Mrs. Hamby will be on Tuesday, Oct. 17, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel. The funeral service will be Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with interment at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
