George Jenkins

FLAT ROCK — George Ernest Jenkins Jr., 84, born Jan. 15, 1933, died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at Dade Health and Rehab. He worked as a local mechanic for 40 plus years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Deanna Jenkins; parents, George and Jessie Jenkins Sr., three sisters, Frankie Lou Jenkins, Edna Little and Ruth Jenkins, and one brother, Carl Jenkins. He is survived by three daughters, Patricia Jenkins, Laura (Steven) Cooper and Melissa Daniels; one brother, Ken (Elaine) Jenkins, all of Flat Rock, Ala.; sister-in-law, Sandra (Ray) Padgett, of Mentone, Ala.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017, at Deer Head Cove Cemetery and interment to follow.
