Barbara Oldham

Barbara Denise Oldham, 53, of Chattanooga, passed away on Oct. 18, 2017. She was of the Baptist faith, loved attending church and teaching Sunday school classes. Denise was an avid poetry writer. She had her own blog, and even had some of her work published in greeting cards. Denise loved to sing, loved children, but most of all she loved life. She was preceded in death by her mother, Opal Shipley; brother, Charles Jenkins; and a sister, Vickie Crabtree. Left behind to cherish Denise’s memory are her husband, Edward Oldham; niece, Kelli (John) Meadows; nephews, Brian (Lauren) Jenkins, Kevin (Angie) Casper, and Neal, Tyler, and Jordan Jenkins; father, Otis Jenkins; and a brother, Jim (Patsy) Jenkins. A celebration of Denise’s life will be held in the east chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends on Monday Oct. 23, 2017, from 5 to 8 p.m. She will be laid to rest in Lakewood Memory Gardens East.
