Bob Banks

HIGDON — Robert “Bob” Overton Banks, 69, passed away Oct. 22, 2017. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. He was a member of Flora Crest Southern Adventist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Mildred Banks. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Mary Sue Banks; son, Charles (Rikki) Banks, of Monroe, Ga.; stepsons, Freddy Sledge, Higdon, Ala., Keith (Vickie) Sledge, Flat Rock, Ala.; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Mary V. Banks, of Charlotte, N.C.; and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. EDT Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, in the Bryant Chapel with Pastor Jason Carlson officiating. Burial will follow in the Kennemer Cemetery, Flat Rock, Ala. Visitation will be held Tuesday, 4 to 8 p.m. EDT; Wednesday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. EDT.
