Sachiko Myers

Sachiko “Cupie” Myers, 88, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017. Originally from Osaka, Japan, she was a resident of Chattanooga for over 60 years, where she was an active member of the community and Brainerd United Methodist Church. Cupie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker, and an avid gardener who shared her love of all that is green and growing with everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her husband W.M. Myers, Jr. Survivors include daughter Lisa Musarra; grandchildren Alexandra, Mary, and Anthony Musarra, Jessica Musarra Ross; and her son Lucas; sisters Yoko Ueda, Kazuko Itatani; and brother Manabu Takebayashi; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 8, at Brainerd United Methodist Church, 4315 Brainerd Road. Interment will follow the service at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017 at the funeral home. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Cupie’s life following the Cemetery at Sushi Nabe, Coolidge Park. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Heart Association, Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund, or a charity that is important to you.
