Dorothy Jones, 84, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017 in a local hospital. She retired from Woolworth’s as a salesperson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Ruby Davis, Sr.; husband, Johnny Jones; son, Wendell Williams; and six siblings. Survivors include her sons, Walter (Drucilla) Davis, Darryl Jones, Gerald Jones, all of Chattanooga, and Jeffrey Jones of Fayetteville, N.C.; daughters, Diane Davis, Demetrius Jones, both of Chattanooga; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great- grandchild; brother, Clifford Davis, Jr. of Virginia Beach, Va.; sisters, Doris Trader, Mary Williamson, both of Newark, N.J., and Ruth Bulloch of Chattanooga; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. She will lie-in-state today after 12:30 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday at noon in the chapel with Pastor Eddie Jacks as the eulogist. Burial in Highland Memorial Gardens.
