Sybil Lea

ROSSVILLE — Sybil Kerby Lea, 84, went to spend eternity with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017. Sybil was born July 11, 1933 to Melvin J. and Nancy Ann Elizabeth Kerby of Heneger, Ala. She was a graduate of Sylvania High School class of 1951. She retired from Fillauers in 1999 after 20 plus years of service. She was a member of the Pea Ridge Baptist and attended Frawley Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Kerby; sisters, Pat Shippey and Dorothy Kerby; and a grandson, Tyler Slaughter. She is survived by a son, Michael (Theresa) Lea; two daughters, Denise (Terry) Slaughter, and Darlene (Dennis) Hurt; and grandchildren, Angela Hale, Jeremy (Melissa) Christopher, James Hurt, Lyndsay Hurt, Kerby Lea, and Morgan Slaughter and several great-grandchildren. Interment will be in Pea Ridge Cemetery, Heneger, Ala. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
