Albert Jouravel

Albert Jouravel, 92, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017. He was born in Shanghai, China and spent over 3 years in a Japanese internment camp during WWII. Albert immigrated to the United States and went to the University of California at Berkeley where he received an associates degree in liberal arts. He later became a U.S. citizen and joined the Army and served as a Corporal during the Korean War. During his career he was a successful restaurant owner, executive manager and real estate agent. He was preceded by his parents, Litman and Ronia Jouravel; sisters, Eleanor Ulrich, Virginia Daniels and Evelyn Szapiro; his wife, Jeanette Jouravel; and his beloved daughter, Carol Sims. Albert leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Steve Jouravel, Diane Paul, Doug Jouravel and Ronnie Jouravel; as well as 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and extended family and friends. The family will have his memorial and internment at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors. We are asking that donations are made to the National Kidney Foundation in lieu of sending flowers.
