L.C. Smith

Leslie C. Smith, 69, of Sale Creek, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017. L.C. was retired and a veteran of the U.S. Army where he was a two-time recipient of the Bronze Star. He served in Vietnam with the 199th Light Infantry Brigade from June 1968 to June 1969. L.C. was a member of the Church of Christ at Sale Creek. He loved working in his garden and in his shop doing projects for friends and family. He also loved reading his bible on a daily basis. L.C. was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Willie Smith and a sister, Jo Kimmel. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Pamela Hutcheson Smith; son, Tony (Amy) Smith, of Greenville, Tenn.; daughter, Rachel Stafford, of Sale Creek; two grandsons, Tyler Stafford, of Sale Creek and Mathew (Candice) Laymon, of Soddy-Daisy; two sisters, Marlene (Jim) Jordan, of Sale Creek and Fran Lantz, of Buena Park, Calif.; brother, John (Arlene) Smith, of Montgomery, Ala.; many nieces, nephews, in-laws and special friends. Services will be today, Sept. 13, 2017, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Minister Steve Plemmons and Minister Frank Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Shelton Cemetery with Jamie Jordan, Chris Jordan, Shawn Smith, Eddie Hutcheson, Donnie Hutcheson, Ricky Hodge, Eric Dishmon and Dennis James serving as pallbearers. Visitation is today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences and memories can be shared at www.williamsonandsons.com.
