Kenneth Hamler Burke, 54, passed away on Sept. 9, 2017. He graduated from Tyner High School in the class of 1980. He also studied drafting at the Academy of Professional Drafting in Atlanta. He was a member of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Kenneth was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in Desert Storm. He worked at Kia of Chattanooga until his health failed. He is survived by his bride of 25 years, Marvis A. Burke; daughter and pride and joy, Marresa A. Burke; son, Kenny Burke, Miami, Fla.; mother, Mrs. Susie (Hamler) Burke, of Chattanooga; one aunt, Patsy (Hamler) Weston, of Cleveland, Ohio; father-in-law, Willie B. Carter; sister-in-law, Melanie A. Carter, two brothers-in-law, Maurice and Michel Carter, all of Chattanooga; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, at Union Grove Baptist Church, noon with Pastor Glen P. Taylor officiating. Interment: National Cemetery. The body will lie in state after noon today, Sept. 14. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.
