Emma Cowart

ARVADA, COLO. — Emma Elizabeth (Libby) Cowart, 92, passed away at Applewood Our House, Thursday, Sept. 4, 2017.  Libby was born May 25, 1925 in Cohutta, Ga., to Julia and Joe McGhee.  She lived most of her life in the East Ridge and East Brainerd area until moving to Arvada in 2013. She retired from Miller Brothers in 1987. She loved working in her yard and she was most proud of her tulips, azaleas and roses, and of her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Ira Herbert Cowart in 2001, and one sister Louise and one brother Robert. Survivors include one sister, Mary Peoples, and one brother, William McGhee; two daughters Mrs. Michael (Judith) O'Shea, Erie, Colo., and Joyce Boury, Livermore, Calif.; three grandchildren Mrs. Christopher (Julie) Westbrook, Vail, Ariz., Mr. Matthew Heard, Westminster, Colo., and Mr. Patrick Boury, Livermore, Calif.; three great-grandchildren, Emma, Garrett, and Michelle; 4 step-grandchildren and three step-great- grandchildren.   There will be no visitation.  Internment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.      Visit www.heritagechattanooga.com to share condolences with the family.
