Essie C. Hinton Brown, 83, of Chattanooga, Tenn., passed away on Sept. 18, 2017, in Chattanooga, Tenn. Essie Hinton Brown is survived by her sons, James Hinton (Lois), and Dr. Johnny DeWayne Brown (LaTeisha); four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 21, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, at Orchard Knob MBC with Pastor Carlos Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
