Jack Patterson

James H. Patterson, “Jack”, 96, was born on July 4, 1921. He was very proud to be born on July 4th and had great pride in his time in the Coast Guard during WW2. He crossed both the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean on the USS Howard D Crow.  Preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Lois Reubel Patterson; parents, John and Ethel Patterson; sisters, Thelma Harness, Bea Dunn, Gladys Jacobin. Jack is survived by his nieces and nephews, Judy Spence (Tim), James Harness, Ricky Kennedy, Nancy Ruback (Ron), Ronald Miller, Mike Miller; great-nephews, Craig Estill (Carey), Darren Estill (Lauren), Jason Harness (Pilar), Justin Harness (Karie), several great-great-nieces and nephews. Jack was a member of the Lookout Valley Masonic Lodge #673 where he was a past Worshipful Master. He was also a Shriner and a member of the Easter Star. Special thanks to Jimmy and Diane Maples and James Bolton for all your help over the years with Uncle Jack and Aunt Lois. Uncle Jack will be missed but he will be happy again being with Aunt Lois. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Shriners Children's Hospital, Attn: Office of Development, 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr, Tampa, FL 33607. A Celebration of Jack’s Life will be held in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at 12:30 p.m. with Rev. Preston Brown officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. He will be laid to rest in the National Cemetery with military honors.
