Herman Long

Herman Edward “Eddie” Long, 63, of East Ridge, passed away April 18, 2018. He was of Baptist faith and was a member of Burning Bush Baptist Church. He was president of Ringgold Girls Softball Association in the late 80s and early 90s. He loved to coach the Pink Panthers Girls Softball Team. Mr. Long also enjoyed golfing, coaching his grandson in baseball, and was an avid Tennessee Volunteers fan. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Mary (Whited) Long; and sisters, Cynthia May Long and Barbara Goins. Survivors include his beloved wife of 43 years, Kathy Lance Long; daughters, Nicole (Jason) McMath, of Ringgold, and Danielle (Joseph) Green, of Ringgold; sisters, Mary Hawkins Corbin (Ralph), Virginia (Terry) Tucker, and Corenda Long King; brothers, Bobby Long and Ronnie (Shelia) Long; six grandchildren, Gage Teague, Zeben, Lauren, and Bryce McMath, Monica and Ariel Green; one great-grandchild on the way, John Edward Teague. Visitation will be Saturday, April 21, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 22, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The service will be in the chapel on Monday, April 23, 2018, at 1 p.m. Online guest book at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com.
