Ruth Massey

On Monday morning, April 23, 2018, Ruth Grace Massey passed away at the age of 80. She will be forever remembered by her husband Dale; her four children, Steven Bartoo, James Bartoo, Thomas Bartoo and Jennifer King; her two stepchildren, Michael Massey and Ann Humphries; and her 11 grandchildren; as well as her four surviving brothers, Ken Walker, Jerry Walker, Phil Walker and Hank Walker. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Don Walker and John Walker; and her parents, Henry and Grace Walker. Ruth worked for more than 20 years as a kindergarten teacher for the Catoosa County, Ga., school system at Battlefield Elementary and Battlefield Primary. Ruth’s family welcomes friends and acquaintances to a visitation on Friday, April 27, from 4 to 6 p.m. and a funeral service on Saturday, April 28, at 11 a.m. Both events will take place at the Cleveland chapel of Companion Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Chattanooga Heart Institute at CHI Memorial.
