Jerre Holloway

JASPER — Jerre Manuel Holloway, 73, of Jasper, Tenn., passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 31, 2018. Mr. Holloway was a graduate of Marion County High School and attended Middle Tennessee State University where he received his master’s degree in education. He enjoyed a longtime career as an educator that spanned more than 35 years and served as past president of the Chattanooga Education Association. He spent the last years teaching 5th grade at Lookout Valley Elementary School. The son of the late Jerry Manuel and Lou Massengale Holloway, he was also preceded in death by siblings, Claude Clifford Holloway, James Holloway, J.D. Holloway, and Kathyrn Dalton. Survivors include his family who he loved dearly, children, Jeremy (Angie) Holloway and Jocelyn Miller; grandchildren, Cade and Aubrey Holloway, Reese and Logan Miller; sister, Nancy (Al) Raffo; special caregivers, Penny and Patti Ruth; as well as several nieces and nephews. A funeral service to commemorate his life will be held at 1 p.m. CDT on Friday, August 3, 2018, at the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 2, 2018, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. CDT at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Pleasant Grove Cemetery Association, 330 Pleasant View Circle, Jasper, Tennessee 37347.
