Garry Harding

Garry Dean Harding, 70, of Hixson, Tenn., passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018, in a local hospital. He was a member of Sequoyah Baptist Tabernacle and enjoyed riding motorcycles, bird watching, horses and spending time with family and friends. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, B. W. Harding and Ollie Wood. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Harding, Hixson; sons, Matthew (Christy) Harding, Soddy-Daisy, Randy (Cindy) Sherlin, Hixson; daughters, Vicki Harding, Cleveland, Terri (Jason) Lahr, Battle Creek, MI; brothers, Marcus Wood, Seattle, Wash., and Danny (Bona) Burkhart, Harrison, Tenn.; sister, Sherry Hutton, Hixson; grandchildren, Ben and Emma Harding, Joshua Baker, Shelby Baker, Justine (Kenny) Dickens, Austin Lahr, Abigail Lahr; great-grandchildren, Hunter Dickens, Annabelle Dickens and Jackson Baker; and several nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Legacy Funeral Home with Rev. David Stancil officiating. Burial will follow at the Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018, from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. in the funeral home.
