Delores Coffey

Delores “Mickey” Bachman Coffey, 75, of Chattanooga, Tenn., passed away Monday, July 30, 2018, surrounded by her family. She was born on Feb. 7, 1943, to the late Mary Ray Dunn and Ernest Arthur Bachman. She was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, James A. “Jim” Coffey. Survivors include her daughter, Amber Whittle Hamby; son, Matthew Whittle; and her grandchildren whom she adored, Andrew Hamby, Luke Hamby, Abigail Whittle and Adam Whittle. She is also survived by her brother, Jim Dunn, and many beloved cousins. Delores was a member of St John’s United Methodist Church. Delores was employed by the Partnership for Families, Children and Adults – Homemaker Program for 25 years, helping to provide in-home support services for the elderly and disabled. She served as the director of the program from 1995 through 2005 when she retired. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Blackburn and Rev. Dallas Beck officiating. Interment will follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018, at the funeral home.
