Donald Rackley

Donald Wayne Rackley, 62, of Hixson, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 31, 2018. He was a loving husband, father and son. He was an Eagle Scout, a Scout leader, and a member of Mensa, International Brotherhood of Magicians, IBM Local Ring 112, Storytellers Guild, and Abba’s House. He was active in church in music and theater ministry. He had careers as a computer operator at Buster Brown for 18 years, a homeschooling father of 18 years, and most recently, entertainer, motivational speaker, magician, and seasonal Santa Claus. He was predeceased by a son, David Allen, and a daughter, Anna Danielle. Survivors include his parents, Donald Vaughn Rackley and Betty Shipley; wife, Nancy Reinhart Rackley; sons, Donald Jay, Johnathan Daniel, and Adam Christopher; and daughter, Andrea Renee. Visitation will be at Abba’s House in Hixson on Monday, Aug. 6, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Tuesday, August 7, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.. The funeral, officiated by Pastors Ronnie Phillips, Ken Hartley, and Seth Colemanof Abba’s House, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday followed by a graveside service at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
