Walter Howard

Walter Allen Howard Sr. passed away Thursday morning, Aug. 2, 2018, at a local hospital. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Sam and Della Howard. He left behind two sons, Walter Allen (LaDonna) Howard and George Scott (Michele) Howard; along with several grandchildren. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Georgetown, Tenn. He loved cooking and sharing his meals with others. He was multi-talented and loved bluegrass music. He was able to play an array of instruments as well as writing music. He was well respected in the music community for his musical abilities and his willingness to teach others. We fondly remember his enthusiastic phrase “Fantastic” when asked “How are you doing?” only a few days before passing. Allen has left a real vancancy in our musical community. He was devoted Christian and spent much time studying the Bible and witnessing for the Lord. Allen will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Services will be handled by Companion Funeral Home in Cleveland, TN. Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 6, from 10 a.m. to noon at the First Baptist Church of Georgetown, 8212 Highway 60, Georgetown, TN. A graveside service will immediately follow at the New Saylor Cemetery in Sparta, TN at 2:30 p.m. Pastor Earl Farris will be officiating.
