Arthur Denton

ROSSVILLE — Arthur Wayne Denton Sr., 77, passed away on Monday, Aug. 6, 2018. He was born to the late Robert Gordon and Margerette Flener Denton in Flintstone, was a lifelong resident of Rossville and was of the Baptist faith. Wayne served his country in the Army National Guard and retired in the early 1990s from Brock and Blevins after more than 20 yrs. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother, who will be greatly missed. Wayne was also preceded in death by his wife, Linda Jewel Denton; and brothers, Bobby Denton, Lyndell Denton and Charles Denton. He is survived by his son, Wayne (Tiffany) Denton Jr.; brother, Wesley (Teresa) Denton; sisters, Phyllis Black, Annette Chavis; and three other sisters; grandchildren, Jered and Nathan; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 10, 2018, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and prior to the service on Friday. Arrangements by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home-Ft. Oglethorpe.
