Evander Osborne

Evander Benjamin Osborne, 78, a 40+ year resident of St. Elmo, died June 26, 2018, after an extended illness. He was born in Beford County, TN on March 11, 1940, to the late Charlie B. and Rosie Lee Osborne. In 1958, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Medical Unit. He was also a retiree of TVA. Ben was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Mildred Ruth; sister, Alice Osborne; nephew, Nakia Christmon; and brother-in-law, James Christmon. Ben and Mildred were hospitable to everyone. They enjoyed a lively game of Dominos or Rook with friend and family and always provided a Southern homecooked meal for your enjoyment. Benjamin is survived by his devoted and loving caregiver, companion, and friend, Sharon Wilson. He is also survived by a stepdaughter, Melony (Randal) Stover; sisters, Laura Christmon, Margaret (Joe) Benford, Jeanette (Tom) Dillard, Ethel (Robert) Benford, and Bettye Osborne; one aunt, Nora Murray; one granddaughter, Angela Haygood; and two great-grandchildren, Haley and Elijah; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends. A memorial service will be held Aug. 17, 2018, at the National Cemetery at 2 p.m. All are welcome.
